Gregory Scott Brown, MD, is a board-certified psychiatrist, educator, and author.  He is an associate professor at the University of Houston College of Medicine, chair of the Council on Communications at the American Psychiatric Association, and a mental health advisor for Men's Health magazine.

 

Dr. Brown's work focuses on evidence-based integrative medicine, public-facing mental health education, and the professional use of multimedia (including books, popular articles, television, radio, and social media) to translate complex mental health topics for public audiences. He writes and speaks about science in a way that is engaging and fun, using a combination of research, personal anecdotes, and relatable storytelling. His commentary has been featured in the New York Times, the Washington Post, National Public Radio, the Today Show, Live with Kelly and Mark, and the PBS News Hour among several other high-profile media platforms.

 

When he is not working, Dr. Brown enjoys supporting the arts, practicing yoga, creating new health food recipes, and training for his next run.​
